Early stage investing provides highly asymmetric returns. As a strong believer in the power of diverse teams (when well managed) to deliver superior results I make that a key investment decision criterion. Further with only some 10% of VCs and 20% of angel investors being women I prefer to focus away form the pattern recognition preferences of the majority and see great opportunities for women founded and led early stage companies. In fact the majority of portfolio companies have women founders or co-founders and CEOs.
